Production time is 4 to 9 months. Here is what happens at each stage.
Start with a free 40-minute consultation at our North Point showroom, by appointment. It is pressure-free and available in English. We explain the process, sizes, cuts and prices. When you are ready, you place your order. Payment is 50% deposit when you place your order, and the remaining 50% when you receive the diamond.
We need 500 g of ashes. If there are less than 500 g, 11 g of hair is needed. Your loved one’s ashes (or hair) are sent to our Swiss laboratory in two parcels, marked 1 of 2 and 2 of 2, as a precaution in case one goes missing. One tracking code covers both parcels.
Both parcels arrive at our laboratory in Domat/Ems, Switzerland. Your order is registered under a pre-registered control number, so it can be identified at every stage. Your order is recorded in the Algordanza database. The ashes are then weighed and analysed to check their composition.
In a proprietary chemical and physical process, the carbon is separated from the rest of the ashes. Unneeded inorganic material is burned away, and the carbon is converted to graphite by heat. Graphite is the stepping stone to a diamond.
The graphite is placed in a growth cell, where high pressure and high temperature grow it into a rough diamond. This is a real, lab-grown diamond with the same physical, chemical and optical properties as a mined diamond. It is not zirconia. For diamonds made from human ashes, the colour, from white or clear to deep blue, comes from the natural boron content of the ashes. Production time is 4 to 9 months.
Highly skilled Swiss craftsmen cut and polish the rough diamond to the shape you chose. A brilliant cut is included. Special cuts (Emerald, Asscher, Princess, Radiant, Heart, Oval) are +HKD 3,150. You can also keep your diamond raw.
The diamond is inspected and its size is recorded. Every memorial diamond made from human ashes or hair comes with its own Algordanza certificate of origin, included in the price. Every Semper Fides pet diamond comes with its own Semper Fides diamond certificate. Each diamond has its own reference number, laser-inscribed on the girdle.
Your finished diamond comes back to Hong Kong. You collect it in person at our North Point showroom by appointment; we do not deliver. You pay the remaining 50% at that time.

Yes. You can cancel your order at any time before production starts, and we understand that plans can change. Production starts when we begin processing your ashes or hair. The refund is 90% of your 50% deposit (a 10% administration charge applies), minus any shipping costs already incurred. Before shipping costs, that is 45% of the order price.
